I was browsing through different pallet designs for our new bottling line and noticed that some plastic pallets have these long grooves molded into the top surface while others are completely flat. At first I thought maybe the grooves were just for drainage or something, but then someone told me they're designed to hold specific types of containers in place. I found a pallet with grooves that seems to match the footprint of our 20 liter jerry cans, but I'm not entirely sure if the spacing will line up correctly or if it's meant for something else like kegs or drums. Does anyone here use these grooved pallets for actual product positioning, or do you just end up ignoring the grooves and putting standard boxes on top anyway? I'm trying to decide if it's worth paying extra for a specialized design or if I should just get flat top pallets and use rubber mats for anti slip like we do now. Also curious if the grooves make the pallet weaker in any way since there's less material in those channels. Any insight appreciated.
