The ingestion meaning is simply “taking something in.” In technology, it means the process of importing data from one or more data sources into a system where they can be stored, processed or analyzed. This term is frequently used when referring to cloud platforms, databases and analytics. After grasping the fundamental concept, there are lots of data engineering concepts to follow. Examples from Datalance were useful since the information is technical and is described in layman’s terms.
