Does HACCP certification actually matter for crates or is it just marketing?

I’m hoping someone here can give me a straight answer on this because I keep getting conflicting information from different suppliers and honestly I’m starting to get a bit frustrated with all the sales talk. One supplier tells me that all their crates are HACCP compliant and that I absolutely need certified containers to pass inspections, while another tells me that it’s mostly just a marketing gimmick and that any food-grade plastic will do the job as long as it’s clean. I’ve been doing my due diligence and came across a pretty comprehensive guide about plastic packaging HACCP compliance that explains the actual requirements, but it still leaves me wondering whether I really need to spend extra money on certified crates or if I’m just being upsold by clever salespeople. I run a medium-sized food processing operation in Ajman and we handle all sorts of products, from fresh produce to meat and seafood, so hygiene is obviously a top priority for me. What I’m trying to figure out is whether there’s a real, measurable difference between HACCP compliant plastic crates for food handling and regular food-grade crates that don’t have that specific certification. Has anyone here actually been audited and had their crates checked for certification, or is it more about the overall cleanliness and condition of the containers rather than whether they have a specific stamp on them? I don’t want to cut corners on safety but I also don’t want to waste money on unnecessary certifications if they don’t actually make a practical difference in day-to-day operations.
